Position:
Associate Director of Business Development and Operations
Location: Remote
Leal Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director to join its Business Development and Operations team. This role will report to the VP of Business Development and Operations.
About Leal Therapeutics:
- Clinical-stage biotechnology company developing novel, neuro-metabolic therapeutics for diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) with critical unmet needs including Schizophrenia and ALS.
- Core operations in Worcester, MA and Newton, MA

Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage corporate budget in close collaboration with functional leads, project management, and FP&A team to maintain accurate cash runway forward projections
- Build and maintain forecasting scenarios and other budget analyses required to inform fundraising strategy and support broader BD & Operations priorities
- Support fundraising operations including investor tracking, data room management, diligence requests, and maintenance/ development of effective external communication materials
- Lead competitive intelligence efforts, synthesizing market and landscape insights to inform strategic decision-making
- Support investor relations including presentations to Board of Directors
- Support IP strategy development in collaboration with counsel
- Support negotiations of contracts with external parties, in collaboration with counsel
- Support other cross-functional organizational operations (e.g., website and public communications, teambuilding and offsite planning, HR support, etc.)
Education, Experience, and Qualities Required:
- Bachelor's/Bachelor's equivalent or higher degree preferably in a life science, finance, or economics
- Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MS, MBA)
- 3-5 years of professional experience in life sciences-focused management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, equity research, and/or corporate/operational role in a biotech/pharma/therapeutics company
- Strong organizational skillset with ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passion for bringing new therapies to serve patients with unmet medical needs
